Brayden is 1 month old!!

WOW! Where has the time gone?? It seems just like yesterday Brayden entered this world and now he is already one month old! I cannot believe it.
In the past month, Brayden has met members of his family, had his first bath, celebrated his first Thanksgiving, and hung out at home with mommy and daddy. Daddy was able to take a lot of time off to spend his first month at home with us. He only worked 4 days this month. We were happy to have him home with us.

A week or so ago we were finally able to give Brayden his first bath and he loved it! Thank goodness! :)

Here are some pictures from Braydens first bath:

Brayden did very good during his first bath. He seemed to actually enjoy it! :) Here is a video of him sucking his thumb during his first bath. He is so precious!

We really enjoyed our first Thanksgiving with Brayden and we cannot wait till Christmas! Even though he is to little to know what is going on, he already has tons of gifts from mommy and daddy. I could not help myself. :)

On Thanksgiving, we decided to stay home and cook dinner here at home and put up all of our Christmas decorations and our Christmas tree. We did not want to get him out and about just yet with all of the sickness going on. He has only went out to go to the doctor and he has went out with us on a few car rides. He really seems to love riding in the car. We also took him to get his newborn pictures made and I believe that I just spent a small fortune on them. Oh well, they are only small once. I am sure it will only get worse as he gets older. We have taken so many pictures of him, but I want to have as many photos of him as I can. Here are some photos of his first Thanksgiving!

Brayden is only a month old, but he has been so alert since birth. He already has such a personality. Here are some things about Brayden since birth.

***Brayden loves bath time! I was surprised but it seemed like it really calmed him. He seems to really like the warm water. Lets just hope it continues! :)

***He only wakes up twice a night to eat. When he gets hungry he lets you know. That is the only time he cries. He is such a good baby.

***He sleeps really good, but has a hard time going to sleep at times. He seems to fight his sleep at times. He doesn't want to miss a thing!

***Brayden is going to be a thumb sucker. He doesn't do it very often yet but when he can find his thumb it is in his mouth. I am totally okay with this. I think it is very sweet and it is his way of comforting himself.

***Brayden loves to lay in the floor and kick his little legs and work his arms.

***He still has a head full of dark hair and when he gets upset or hungry he grabs for it. This past week he was upset and he grabbed Mommy's hair and pulled as hard as he could. :)

***He is very alert and is starting to really notice things. He loves to be talked to and will just stare at you while your talking to him. He also notices shadows on the wall and loves to look at lights.

***He gets the hiccups ALL THE TIME and he hates them. At first, he will just lay there but then I think they get old to him and he starts to grunt and fuss at them. Poor guy!

Brayden is such a blessing to us. I do not know where I would be without him. He is my world. He is so special and so precious! We love him so much!

Anyway, I will leave you with several photos of Brayden. We have taken so many photos and they are all so cute that it is so hard to pick just a few. :)

Brayden Hunter Lynch has arrived!!!

As most of you all know Brayden Hunter Lynch has made his way into this world!! Our beautiful baby boy was born on November 3, 2009 at 2:09 p.m. weighing 7lbs 9oz and 20.5 inches long!!

He has already blessed us more than you will ever know. He has definitely changed our lives for the better. I look at him and wonder what I did before him and I can just sit and stare at him for hours. We are so blessed.

I want to keep this blog going so that all of our friends and family can watch him grow. I will not be posting every week, but I will make sure to post at least once a month so that everyone can learn about the important events and milestones that happen with Brayden and our new little family!! :) So make sure to check back every so often for updates!!

Well I will go back to November 3rd, the day that our whole world changed! :)
The morning of November 3rd we woke up and got ready to go to the hospital. We did not have to be there until 11am so I was pretty anxious that whole morning. My mom, dad and stepdad all came to the house before going to the hospital. I was not really that nervous that morning before leaving, but once I stepped foot in the car to go to the hospital I was instantly nervous. Nick and I made it to the hospital along with my family a little before 11am. They got me all checked in and immediately took me back to triage to prep me for the c-section. Nick and I went back while my family waited in the waiting area. Immediately after checking in they had me change into a gown and took me for an ultrasound just to see if Brayden has flipped into the correct position. Needless to say he had not. After the ultrasound they took me back to a room where they were waiting to start my IV, take my blood, clean my belly, hook me up to the monitors and put on those lovely compression socks. :) I was a little overwhelmed because I had several people in the room and each of them was doing something different to me. After they were finished a nurse came in and began asking me all types of questions. After she was finished my family was able to come in and wait with me. We just sat and talked as we waited and watched my contractions on the monitor. I could not believe how many contractions I was having and how strong they were becoming. I truly believe that I would have had Brayden within the week if they had not scheduled my c-section so early. After about an hour the nurses that would be with me during the surgery came in along with the anesthesiologist to fill me in on what will go on during the procedure. I have to admit that is when I started to get scared. They let me know everything they would do and told me that they would be back to get me in a few minutes after they hear from Dr. Cave. Just a few minutes passed and they came back and told me that Dr. Cave had a delivery and that I would be delayed just a few minutes. I think we only waited about 30 minutes or so and then they were back to get me. Nick had to stay behind and put on all of his gear and wait until they came to get him. Meanwhile, they took me on back to the O.R. and had me sit on the table. The anesthesiologist that I had was amazing. Also, I could not have asked for a better nurse that was there taking care of me throughout the c-section. Anyway, the anesthesiologist had me scoot all the way back on the table and lean over into the nurse. He told me that he was going to give me something in my IV to regulate my blood pressure. After he gave me the medicine in my IV he started pressing on my back to administer the spinal. While is was pressing on my back I started to feeling a little queasy and lightheaded and I told him. He said that he would slow down and reassured me that my heart rate and blood pressure was great. He started asking me questions about the baby and my family to get my mind off of everything. After I calmed down he gave me the numbing medicine in my back, which did not hurt near as bad as I though and before I knew it he had everything done and they were laying me back on the table. They got everything ready and washed off my belly and then Nick was allowed to come in to be with me. I had never be so happy to see him! :) Before we knew it our baby boy was born! After he was born I completely forgot about the c-section. I was just listening to him cry and I started to cry like a baby. It was the best experience of my life! While Dr. Cave was finishing up everything she said "Amy, your not going to believe this, but he had turned into position sometime between the ultrasound they did after we arrived and the section." She said that she did not know if it was the contractions that I was having that made him turn or if it was the spinal that relaxed everything and made him turn. But she also said that he was face up so we needed to do a c-section anyway. They also had to use a vacuum just to get him out because of the position he was in. Anyway, time seem to fly by and before I knew it I was being wheeled into the recovery room where I was able to hold Brayden for the first time!
He was perfect!! They continued to monitor me and Brayden for an hour. Then right before they took me to my room they told me that they were going to take Brayden to warm him up because his temp was not what they wanted it to be and he was also having trouble regulating his blood sugar, which was due to my gestational diabetes. They took Nick and I to our room and before long Brayden was able to join us.

Here are a few pictures from that wonderful day!!

This is the last photo of Nick and I leaving the house as a couple for the last time :)

37 Weeks and Doctor Update!!

I am now almost to the end of my 37th week. I will be 38 weeks on Saturday! It is amazing to me that 9 months ago we were finding out we were expecting and now here we are getting ready to bring this little one into this world. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. The best feeling in the world.

Anyway, here are my 37 week photos:

We went to see the doctor yesterday and had another non stress test. Of course Brayden showed himself as soon as the nurse hooked me up to the monitors. :) He went crazy. I think he knows something is there invading his space. Anyway, he passed it with flying colors. My blood pressure was 102/62 and I had not gained an ounce in the last week. This appointment was pretty short and sweet. She told me what time to be at the hospital and then approximately what time we will have a baby!! She told me that during the stress test I was showing that I was having a few contractions and she ask me if I was feeling them. I told her yes. Dr. Cave told me to just watch my contractions and it they get regular to come on in to the hospital or especially if my water breaks! That day I was having contractions on and off all day and after the appointment they continued. They have continued all day today as well. They are uncomfortable but no so painful that I cannot stand them. I am also having some back pain along with them. Needless to say I did not sleep very well last night because of them. We will see if we make it to November 3rd or if Brayden has other plans. Keep checking back for updates. I plan on blogging one more time before Brayden arrives to show one last picture of this belly! :) If it does not happen then the next time I blog we will get to share pictures of our precious little boy! Everyone please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers throughout the next few days and especially on the 3rd!

Love you all,
Nick, Amy and Brayden

36 Weeks and Doctor Update!!!

Sorry this post is so late! I have had an eventful week!! Today is Sunday October 25th and as I post I am actually 37 weeks and 1 day! On November 3rd we will welcome Brayden Hunter Lynch into this world and we cannot wait!! We found out on Wednesday during our ultrasound that the little guy is still breech and will probably not move. He weighs 6lbs and 13 ounces right now. During the ultrasound, Brayden was being stubborn and would not show us his face. He kept turning away. :) Everything looked great during the ultrasound. We also had a non stress test done and he did awesome. The doctor said he was great! It looks like I only gained 1 1/2 pounds in the past 4 weeks or so and my blood pressure was still really good at 112/70. Dr. Cave talked to us about turning him and Nick and I had already decided that we did not want to even try. I had heard that was really painful and that it might not even work. Dr. Cave told us that she thought that we were making a very smart decision and that I would probably have a 50/50 chance of it being successful so we just decided to go ahead with the c-section. I am excited because I know the exact date that he will be here!! I go back to see her next Wednesday and she will go over all the details with me.

I have still felt really good this past week. I work next week and then I am off until the end of January. I cannot wait to meet our little guy and be able to spend so much time with him. I am so blessed.

I am starting to get nervous about everything but I know everything will be ok. I just cannot believe it is time for his arrival!! These 9 months have passed by so quickly.

Anyway here are my 36 week photos:

Well I guess that is all for this week. I will post again next week after our doctors appointment so be sure to check back for an update and my 37 week photos!! Be sure to keep all of us in your prayers!
Love you all!

35 Weeks!!!

Wow time keeps flying by and before you know it Brayden will be here!! :) It is so hard to believe that I am finishing up my 35th week of pregnancy and I will be 36 weeks on Saturday! I am actually posting a little early this week. I have been at home the past two days per doctors orders taking it easy. On Saturday I started having really strong Braxton Hicks contractions. They were pretty regular. I just took a nice warm shower and drank LOTS of water and laid down. They finally eased up. On Sunday, I had a few contractions but nothing like Saturday night. On Tuesday morning I woke up in pain. I had a lot of cramping and lower back pain and it lasted all day long. I called the doctor to let them know what was going on and they had me do a urinalysis and it came back ok. So they had me go to triage at the hospital. They monitored the baby and my contractions and had me do another urinalysis. The baby was doing fine. The nurse came in at one point and wanted me to drink a little bit of a coke because she said he was not as active as she would like. Well she no more walked out of the room and I drank a couple of sips of the coke and he started bouncing around. He was just fine.

The nurse checked me and I was dilated 1cm. The doctor said that she wanted me to take it easy the next couple of days and go back to work on Friday. She did not want to risk going into pre-term labor or anything like that. The nurse also mentioned that I might be trying to develop a kidney stone! YIKES! Lets hope not!! So I have been drinking lots of water and relaxing the past two days but I have still been cramping some and still having contractions but nothing regular. I go back to see Dr. Cave on Wednesday and she will check me again. I have to have lab work done, another ultrasound and a non stress test as well. I am excited to see our baby boy again to see if he has turned. Maybe, just maybe that is what has caused some of the cramping!! :) I really do not think that he has turned so we will see what she says about it. The nurse that checked me the other night tried to feel to see if she could tell if he was head down or butt down and she could not tell. So we will have to wait until Wednesday to find out for sure.

Other than the cramping and the contractions, I still have been feeling really good and Brayden still moves around like crazy. His movements have slowed down some but that is to be expected. I have been blessed to have had such a great pregnancy so far and I continue to pray that everything will continue to go well through the delivery.

Anyway, here are my 35 weeks photos:

I have also been very thankful to not have any stretch marks so far!! YAY! :)
I have about 30 days till Brayden's due date! I think he will be here before then. We will see. I do have my bag packed and Brayden's bag is packed. Nick is going to pack a bag sometime this weekend. (Just in case)
Well I guess that is all for this week. Sorry I have not been able to get the pictures developed from the shower at work, but I hope to be able to get those developed soon so I can post those as well. Be sure to check back the middle of next week for my 36 week photos and a doctor update!! Hope everyone stays warm with this chilly weather we are having!! Have a great weekend!!
Love you all,
Nick, Amy and Brayden

34 Weeks and Doctor Update!!

34 weeks and counting!! Only about 5 more weeks and Brayden will be here (if not sooner) Time is getting closer! This past weekend I had a wonderful shower at my moms. It was great! Thank you to all of my family that came and to my WONDERFUL, AMAZING mother who put it all together during a very stressful week. My step dad ended up having some health issues, which had him back and forth to the doctor the entire week before and landed him in the hospital the night before the shower. He ended up having surgery on Monday of this week. He is doing better but is still in the hospital and it will be a long road so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. But through everything my mom put together a great shower and also thank you to my stepsister Sara who helped out that day as well. Again HUGE THANK YOUS to all of those that came and for all the wonderful gifts. Brayden is so loved and oh so spoiled already.

Here are just a few pictures from the shower:

This is the cute cake that my step sister got for the shower! Too bad I couldn't have any of it! :(

These are the gifts before the guests even arrived. They are from Braydens Grammie(my mom). You think he has her wrapped around his little finger already??? This is just a few of the gifts he has got from her. :)

This is the awesome diaper cake my mom made! How cute it this?

This is me and my mom

Me and my wonderful husband and daddy to be! :)

This is me and my brother. SO glad that he was able to come in. :)

Me, my brother and my mom
On Tuesday, I had another great shower with the girls at work. They were all so great! Brayden got lots of cute outfits, rattles, teethers, a blanket, book, piggy bank, bibs and burp cloths, the list goes on and on. I also received some lotion and body/hand scrub and a gift card to Head Over Heelz Salon and Spa here in Evansville to pamper myself after Brayden is born. I had a wonderful shower and I want to thank each and everyone of them for all of the wonderful gifts. I have pictures on a disposable camera but I have not had time to have them developed. I will try and get those developed soon and have those for my next post.

This week has been a very stressful week for me. I have been so emotional on top of everything else. I cry at the drop of a hat. On Tuesday, we had a doctors appointment. Everything went great. My blood pressure was good at 118/61 and I have not gained any weight since my last visit. Dr. Cave measured me and I was measuring right on track. She felt of my belly and said that he was still breech. :( Not really what I wanted to hear. Oh well, he still has time to turn and if he does not then that was the way God intended for him to come into this world.
Dr. Cave also brought up that I needed to get my flu shot!! OH NO!! I have never ever taken one and I was terrified. I can get them for free at work, so I told her that I would get it at work so that I could have more time to think about it. She told me that she highly recommended it and that it would help protect Brayden after he is born. Well of course I want to do any and everything I can to protect him. So I worried and cried and worried some more. I did some research and talked to a lot of people and got their advice and Nick and I decided to get the shot. I was just so worried of the effects it would have on him as well as on me. I did not know how I was going to react to the shot. Well, I felt okay until Thursday. My arm was really sore and I was so drained along with some body aches! YUCK! I think that all the stress that I put myself under this week did not help out at all. I am really concerned with the swine flu as well. I am actually terrified. I just need to continue to put all of my trust and faith in God. He will take care of me and Brayden and my family and everything will be OK.

Brayden is still moving around like crazy and gets the hiccups all the time!! It is the weirdest feeling. :) I still have been feeling pretty good besides the exhaustion and the usual aches and pains. But it will not be long and Brayden will be here.
Anyway here are my 34 week photos:

My daddy bought Brayden another gift this past weekend while he and my brother were up to visit. He got us the glider that we wanted for his nursery. We love it!

Here is a picture of the glider:

My mom made Brayden the blanket that is hanging on the back of the glider. She made it to match his nursery. :) This past weekend I started washing some of Braydens clothes and finished organizing things in his nursery from the showers. Everything is just about complete! Brayden has just about everything a baby could ask for and much more! We have been so blessed to have such great parents, families, and friends who have given so much to Brayden. We are so lucky and we love you all!! I am getting so excited, anxious and nervous for his arrival! It will not be long!!

Well I guess that is all for now. I hope everyone is doing great and has a wonderful weekend.

Love you all,
Nick, Amy and Brayden
