Is it February already?? WOW! Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday we were bringing baby Brayden home and now here we are and he is 3 months old! It seems impossible. The past 3 months have been the BEST 3 months of my life. Brayden has brightened up our lives more than you know. He is so much fun and I know it is only going to get better.
Here is Brayden's 3 month photo:
Here are some things about Brayden that has happened in the past month.
- He coos and talks ALL THE TIME! :) I love it! It is probably my favorite thing in the world. He even gets so excited that he squeals! I definitely think that he has discovered his voice. He is such a happy baby.
Here is a video of Brayden talking and smiling at mommy:
- He is spoiled rotten. If you are not paying attention to him or talking to him, he makes sure to get your attention. :) He fusses and then when you start talking to him he smiles so BIG. :)
- He loves to lay on his play mat and play and look at himself in the mirror. It seems like he enjoys this more than he use to. He especially loves the mirror, or any mirror for that matter. I will take him in the bathroom and let him look at himself in the mirror and he will just smile and coo. He loves it.
- He is still sleeping really good at night. He gets up once at night but it usually isn't until 4 am sometimes later. There were two times last week where he slept throughout the entire night!!
- Brayden doesn't really like to take naps throughout the day. If he does it is only for about 45 minutes. I think he is afraid he might miss something.
- Brayden is really starting to grab at things like my clothes, hair or the blankets. A couple of weeks ago we got him to hold his rattle and he seems to really like playing with it. Here is a video of Brayden playing.
- We put Brayden in his bumbo for the first time a couple of weeks ago. He did really well and can hold his head up but he wants to lean it back. I am sure with time he will get the hang of it.
- Brayden has never been a huge fan of being on his tummy so I do not like to leave him like that very long. Since he does not like to lay on his tummy he was not wanting to hold his head up, while laying on his belly. Now if you put him on your chest he will hold his head up and look all around. He has great head control and has for quite some time. He loves to be held up so he can look at everything around him. He just hates his "tummy time" right now. Hopefully he will start to like it soon.
- He loves to be cuddled and mommy loves it too! :)
- He loves to sit and watch TV. He will really focus on things and any type of movement/colors.
- Brayden loves when I read to him. I got him a couple of touch and feel books and he loves when I take his little hand and let him feel the different textures throughout the books.
- Brayden is starting to learn he can bounce. I can hold him up and he bounces! He loves it! :) He will smile and bounce up and down. It will not be long and we can put him in his jumperoo.
- Brayden loves to suck on his hands. He can almost fit his entire fist in his mouth. :)
- Like I said earlier, Brayden is such a happy baby. There is nothing better than holding him in your arms and having him look at you and talk and smile. Another great thing is waking up first thing in the morning and looking over at him and he is smiling so big! I love it. It melts my heart!
I guess that is all for this month. Here are several pictures of our precious baby boy!
Brayden is getting lots of "daddy time" lately. Nick went to 3rd shift for 6 weeks since I went back to work last Monday. I miss my baby like crazy, but knowing he is with his daddy instead of in a daycare makes it ALOT easier. He is in great hands!! After this week I will have 4 more weeks before I can officially say I am a stay at home mommy!!! I have never been so excited!!! It is going to be the BEST job in the world!!!
Well check back next month for more updates on Brayden.
Love you all,
Nick, Amy and Brayden
