Baby It's Cold Outside....

On Sunday, Brayden got to play in the snow for the very first time!! He LOVED it.  I know a lot of kids his age that hate to get all bundled up but he did not seem to mind one bit! He was all smiles the entire time.

Here is my little man getting ready to go out to play!

"Mommy! Lets go!"
 Watching it snow
My little baby is turning into such a big boy!
 He was amazed!
Trying to catch snowflakes! I LOVE it!
He was watching the snow fall and he would jabber and giggle the entire time!
 Enjoying every minute!

LOVE him!

 And were off....
Brayden's first experience playing in the snow was a HUGE success! We went out when it really started snowing hard and the ground was completely covered. We did not stay out very long at all just enough for him to enjoy it a little and see what he reaction would be.  I am glad that I was able to take him out to enjoy the snow before the wind started blowing.  He actually crawled away from me when I went to get him to bring him in.  He realized that we were going inside and he started crying.  Poor guy.  I think he would have stayed out there all day if I would have let him. Call me crazy, but I hope we have a few more chances of a good snowfall this winter so we are able to get out and enjoy it.  I loved seeing the excitement in his eyes when he seen the snow falling on Sunday. Oh to be little again....

And finally....

It may be cold outside, but my heart is melting and it is all because this little guy......
He makes my heart melt every single day.  Today I got him out of his highchair and he wrapped his little arms around my neck and took his little hand and patted the back of my head.  Yes...of course I teared up.  He is so sweet and loving and I hope to continue to raise him to be a sweet and loving young man.  I never want him to change.  Oh how I love him so....

LET IT SNOW...LET IT SNOW...LET IT SNOW!

Look out world......

HERE COMES BRAYDEN!!

About a week before his first birthday he took his first step.

Two weeks later he would walk from the coffee table to the couch which was just a couple of steps.

Then he started getting a little more courage and would walk back and forth to us, which took about 10 steps.

Now he can walk all the way across the room.

He will let go and take off all on his own now without us telling him to "come see mommy/daddy"

He is still not walking completely all the time and will still crawl at times, but I am SO proud of him.  It will not be long before he is running everywhere.

He knows he is doing something good because after he walks he will say "YAY"  or squeal and clap his hands.  It is too cute!

My little man is growing up so fast!

Here is a video of our little guy on the move!

Deck the Halls....

It's beginning to FEEL a lot like Christmas!!

I LOVE this time of the year and the reason why we celebrate! I cannot wait for Brayden to know and understand the "true" meaning of Christmas.

I have had my shopping done for WEEKS now and all the gifts have been wrapped since Thanksgiving. I will start making Christmas goodies sometime next week, and before you know it Christmas will have come and gone and it will be 2011.  Unbelievable.

I thought that I would take the time to post some of our Christmas decorations around our home.

Here is Braydens very own Christmas Tree!
Brayden's Santa! I thought that this was adorable for his nursery
 More decoration in Braydens nursery

His ornament this Christmas.  I thought that this was so cute and the little nose on Rudolph even lights up!

 Our stockings.

Our Christmas Tree overflowing with presents

I love how the decorations make our home feel so cozy.  I enjoy snuggling up and watching Christmas movies together with the lights out and the tree glowing.
Having Brayden makes me feel like a kid again.  I get just as giddy about the holidays as I use to when I was younger.  I LOVE it!

I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here! Can you believe it? This year has passed us by so fast.  Having Brayden makes the holidays extra special.  His first Christmas he was just 7 weeks old but it was AMAZING! I know it is just going to get better and better!

Before I go, I thought that I would leave you with one of my favorite Christmas Bible verses....

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

The BEST gift under our tree!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Brayden is 13 months old!!

Well another month has come and gone and Brayden is now 13 months old! It seems like yesterday we were having his 1st birthday party and now another month has past.  He is so much fun and so active!!
Here is a picture of my handsome little 13 month old!

**He got SO many toys for his birthday including this wagon.  Last month, when the weather was still nice, we took Brayden around the neighborhood a few times in his new wagon he got from his Papaw Townsend. He LOVES his wagon.  I just wish that the weather was nice to be able to get out and enjoy it. Oh well, it will get a lot of use next spring.

**We finally decided to put up gates around the house.  He is CONSTANTLY on the go and hard to keep up with so we bought a couple of gates for the house to keep him in certain areas.  He also discovered the stairs and can climb like crazy.  Brayden decided he was going to help daddy install his gates.

**Brayden has discovered the refrigerator and now everytime I open it he is right there at my feet.  He loves it.  For some reason it is so fascinating to him as well as my lids.

A room FULL of toys and he would rather play in my kitchen with lids, pots and pans and the refrigerator.  Oh well, at least he is entertained.

**Here is my sweet little man after waking up from a nap.  Notice the wild hair! LOL.  Brayden sleeps pretty good at night, but he still wakes up crying in the middle of the night.  He will always go right back to sleep though so we cannot complain. He is a really good baby.  I also have a great husband that will let me sleep most nights and he will get up with him and still go to work the next day. We take turns to help each other out.  But on weekends that he does not work, he lets me sleep in and gets up with Brayden and takes care of him so I can sleep in a little.  Talk about a keeper.  I would like to thank him, because I do not thank him enough.

**As far as naps, he does really well.  He will usually only take one nap a day that can range from 45 minutes to 2 hours.  Most of his naps are about and hour and a half a day.  He was fighting his naps for a couple of weeks but now he will lay right down and go to sleep! Ahhhh......perfect!  I just hope it stays this way when he gets older.

**A simple task that is almost impossible these days is folding laundry.  That is why we usually wait until Brayden goes to sleep and Nick will fold it or we will tackle it together.  But most of the time we just get it out of the way and Brayden likes to help mommy and daddy. He actually waits until we get some folded and then he throws it back into the basket.  LOL I hope he likes to fold laundry when he is older because that is one thing mommy hates to do.

**Here is Brayden and his Uncle Josh again.  He loves his Uncle Josh and his Uncle Josh adores him.  I know they will be really close as Brayden gets older.

**Brayden was at the door watching daddy hang up the Christmas lights a few weeks ago.  He loves to stand at the door and look outside especially now that we have the lights outside.  He is fascinated with all the lights.   He would actually stay outside if we would let him.  Too bad the weather is getting colder and we are forced to play inside.

Silly Boy!

**Brayden LOVES to play and every toy he has in his playroom is never neglected.  He literally plays with everything.  It might not be for a long period of time, but he loves all his toys and loves to play.

**Brayden still loves his bath time.  I thought as he got older he might grow out of his love for bath time but he literally stays in there until his toes are so shriveled and the water starts getting cold.  I take him out the bath and he cries.  One time I let him sit in the tub until all the water drained out and it broke his little heart.  He sat in the tub with his little head between his legs watching the water go down the drain and just cried.  Bless his heart. It was pitiful. LOL He is definitely my little "water bug"

**In addition to all of the other words I mentioned in my last monthly post: Brayden now says

: Oh Boy-He says this all the time! It is the cutest thing.

: Bad Bad Bad -If Brayden hurts himself or bumps his little head on something such as the coffee table. I will tell him to say "bad, bad, bad" and he will start to giggle instead of crying. He has now picked this up.  It is so cute!

: Bite- I was holding Brayden and I walked though the kitchen after making a cake for  Thanksgiving and the cake was on the counter cooling and he pointed at the cake and said "bite"  Now he says it all the time.

**He will talk to me and shake his little head and just babble on and on.  He is definitely telling a story but who knows what he is saying.  He sure acts like he knows what he is talking about.  It is the cutest thing.  I can only imagine what it is going to be like when he really gets to talking.  I am sure we will never get a word in.  LOL

**He also yells "momma" (loud and clear)  all the time when he cannot see me.  He is definitely a mommy's boy.  He would rather have his mommy than anyone else and I would not have it any other way. :)

**He dropped his sippy today and said "uh oh momma"  altogether.  It was pretty impressive.  He has only done this once.  But it will not be long before he is putting more words together.

**Brayden now has a total of 11 teeth.  He has his top left molar in now as well. No wonder he can eat anything in site with all those teeth!

**He is on the go all the time.  He never sits still.  He is still mainly crawling but it SOOO close to walking. He will stand on his own and look around and grin then he will take about 10-12 steps or so and then go down to the ground.  He is still trying to gain the confidence.  We will cheer for him and clap our hands.  We have been doing this so much that Brayden now will walk and when he get to us he will clap his hands or squeal to the top of his lungs.  He knows when he does something good! I would bet he will be completely walking by Christmas

** Brayden LOVES food.  He will eat everything we give him.  I was eating olives on my salad the other night so I gave him one and he loved it.  He also loves bananas, cheese, green beans, and carrots. Those are just some of his favorites.  On Thanksgiving, I gave him turkey, turnip greens, dumplings, cranberry sauce and he loved every bite of it.  He is his mommy made over.

He also loves his little Gerber puffs or cheerios

**We are now drinking whole milk.  Brayden does not really care for plain whole milk.  I talked to the doctor about it and he said it would be fine to put a tad bit of chocolate syrup or strawberry syrup in it to give it some flavor and so we tried it and it LOVES it now.  He would rather have the strawberry than the chocolate.  He is just like his mommy yet again. I hate plain whole milk but I will drink it if it is chocolate or strawberry. LOL

**We finally found bigger sippy cups that he likes.  He was being really picky with his sippy cups for a while. He loves the small ones that are for 9 months but I changed them when he turned 12 months and he did not like them so after spending a small fortune I FINALLY found some that he likes.

**He knows where I keep certain things that Ihe plays with and if it not in its spot and he cannot find it he turns around and starts fussing, so off we go to try and find it.  LOL  It is so funny.
**Brayden points and jabbers at everything he wants or where he wants to go.   He knows exactly what he wants or where he wants to go.

**We turned Brayden's car seat around this month and he loves it.  He has always love to ride but he loves it even more so now.  We also bought him a portable dvd player that you can mount to the seats for those long car rides this Christmas.

Well before I go I will leave you with a few more pictures of my sweet little man!

Silly little guy!

Love those baby blues!
Helping daddy pack

It is so hard to believe that this was Brayden just one year ago.  So sweet.  I miss the days where he was an itty bitty baby but I have loved every stage of his little life so far and he is SOOOO much fun right now. I know it is only going to keep getting better and better.  I am blessed to have such a healthy, happy, sweet, loving little boy!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
