Olivia is 6 months old!!!

My baby girl is already 1/2 year old!! That just seems so crazy to me! Where in the world has time gone??  I am so blessed to be her mommy and I thank God for blessing me with another sweet little baby!

She is growing and learning each and every day and she is so much FUN!!

Here is Miss Olivia Kate at 6 months! I may be just a little partial but I think this little girl is just gorgeous! :)

I am late writing this blog because she was just 5 days shy of being 7 months old when we went for her well baby check up!  So at almost 7 months old she weighs 17 pounds 6.5 ounces (65%) and is 26 3/4 inches long (66%) and is a perfectly healthy baby girl!

So here is what has been going on with Olivia this month:

* She is wearing 6 month clothing and sleepers

*She wears a size 3 diaper

*She is still not a big eater.  She gets what she needs but she will only drink 3-4 ounces at a time in her bottle. She will eat her breakfast which usually consists of bananas, pears, or apples and some cereal in the morning along with a couple of ounces of formula and then at night she will eat her veggies.  But it is impossible to get her to drink more than 3 maybe 4 ounces at a time.

*This month she had a diaper rash that may have been caused by a new food.  We think it might have been the carrots we tried so we had to call the doctor for a prescription and they advised us to hold off on juice and things like that because this might cause her to break out in a rash as well.  Her brother had the same problem when we started on juice so they decided to hold her off for a little while.

*The doctor also told us that we could start on all the 2nd foods but I make my own baby food so he just told me to start mixing two veggies together or fruits and see what she thinks of it. He also said that we could give her some mashed potatoes, applesauce and things like that.  Basically anything that she did not have to chew.

*She also got 4 more shots- one in liquid form while at the doctor.  She was fine when the doctor came in the room and she went right to him.  She patted his face and was cooing and smiling and then when he laid her on the table to examine her she started pouting her lip and then started bawling and she didn't stop until we left.  I have no idea what was wrong or if she just was scared but it was heartbreaking.  She screamed and cried the whole time the nurse gave her the liquid and then of course when she got her shots.  BROKE MY HEART! This mommy was in tears right along with her.  It is so horrible to hear her cry like that.  She never ran a fever with her shots but she did have some pain in her leg for a while where you could not touch her or hit it because she would scream in pain.

*She is definitely a mommy's girl. I am the one that can calm her down if she gets upset and when she sees me come in the room from being gone she starts squealing and kicking in delight! Makes my day!! She also has times that she does not want me out of her site.  As long as she can see me she is perfectly fine!

*She is almost sitting up! She is so close, she just cannot balance herself quite yet.  But she almost has the hang of it.

*She still does not have any teeth.  Brayden got his teeth so early but she has no sign of any just yet.

*She rolls everywhere!! I can put her down and she is gone!

*She grabs at EVERYTHING!!! I cannot have anything in my hand while holding her because she wants it.  She sees it, she wants it! Brayden never got into anything at all when he was a baby.  I never had to worry about him getting into something.  He just wasn't that type of baby. Olivia will be the total opposite I believe! :)

*She loves ALL her toys!! She plays with everything you give her. Her favorite has to be her baby dolls.  She just coos and loves on it when you give her a doll.

*She is such a happy little gal! She loves to be played with and talked to and when you pick her up she will put her little arms around my neck or put her hands on my face like she is loving me.  It is the sweetest thing ever!

*Sleep....well she is a good sleeper but I have to say that we were spoiled with Brayden.  She still gets up once a night to eat maybe twice depending on how much she has ate but she goes right back to sleep.  I believe if we could get her to eat more at night she would sleep longer but it is impossible to get this little girl to eat more than 3-4 ounces. She gets what she wants and then she is done.   We had a period of about 2 weeks where she would fight us to go to sleep and she would cry and wouldn't eat and nothing seemed to console her  but then those two weeks past and it was like it never happened now she is back to going right to sleep at night.

*She naps really well.  She usually sleeps until 6-6:30, will eat and sleep until 7:30-8 and sometimes as late as 9! Then she will play for a little while in the morning and then take a late morning nap again in the early afternoon and then again around dinner.

*She loves to sit in her high chair and watch everything going on around her.  She is perfectly content in there so it is my go to if she is fussy while I am cooking dinner.  I will put her in her high chair and pull up close to me and she loves to watch me cook.

*She loves her brother and would love to get ahold of him.  She sits and watches him play and if she is upset Brayden will go and say "hey hey hey......don't cry sissy! It's okay! You're just hungry!" and she will calm right down.  If she is upset and he gets around her she stops and starts watching him.  It is so sweet to see them interact.

*She jabbers and squeals all the time.  She may be a talker just like her brother! :)

*She recognizers her name.  She will be laying in the floor or sitting in her bumbo and you can say her name and she will turn to you and smile so big!

I guess that is all for now! Here are a few more pictures of my sweet baby girl!

SO HAPPY!

Happy 6 months Olivia Kate!!
