Our First Ultrasound!!!

Nick and I went for our first ultrasound on March 23rd!! We were not scheduled for our first ultrasound/appointment until April 12th, but when I had blood work done and my HCG levels tested the doctor decided that they were definitely high enough to go ahead with an ultrasound. I was thrilled to know that my HCG levels were great and that I could get an ultrasound sooner than expected! The morning of the 23rd, I had my first bout of nauseousness. I woke up in the middle of the night so nauseous. Thankfully, I never actually got sick. I was able to go back to sleep, but when it was time to get up I was still very nauseous. I know that it was baby sickness, but I also think that I nervous about the upcoming appointment. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been worrying about every little thing, afraid something is going to go wrong. I am sure that all women have a worry or two sometime throughout their pregnancy. Anyway I thought that I was going to lose it a couple of times that morning but by the time we got to the doctor I was feeling better. We arrived at ultrasound and we were called back almost right away. My heart was pounding and I was so nervous, scared and excited all at the same time. They had me lay on the table and for the first time we got to see our little baby! It was the BEST feeling in the world. She began looking for the heartbeat. We could definitely see the little flicker on the screen. She said that we might not be able to hear anything since it was so early, but within seconds there it was, a heartbeat. Nick and I both got teary eyed and it was so amazing to hear. Something we will NEVER forget!! The heartbeat was at 107 BPM which she said was good. She said that I was measuring about 5 weeks 6 days along, (which is about what I thought I should be) with a due date of November 17th! Here is our first ultrasound picture...

I had been feeling pretty good until this past week. I have been nauseous on and off everyday until Friday. Friday I never felt bad at all and today I have felt really good as well. Lets hope it continues. Anyway, here is my 6 week photo. I was not feeling to well that day so it is not a great picture of me.

Anyway, I guess that is all for now. Our next doctors appointment is still scheduled for April 12th, so I am excited to see what she has to say! Until then keep checking back for updates and continue to pray for us! Love you all!
