Brayden is 6 months old!!!

Brayden is 6 months old........6 MONTHS OLD!!! That is 1/2 a year old!! What in the world?? This CANNOT be possible! Where in the world has time gone?? He should not be 6 months old yet! I am so blessed to have him in my life and I thank God for giving him to me. Last weekend, I celebrated my very 1st Mother's Day! Ever since I was young I had dreamt of having babies! I would think of baby names and I knew exactly what I wanted to name them. I wanted to experience having a child grow inside me. I wanted to feel them move and kick. I wanted to experience everything that goes along with being pregnant. I thank God that I was able to give the gift of life. It is a blessed moment when a women becomes a mother. I have experienced nothing but pure joy and excitement since I seen that little digital "pregnant" pop up on the EPT test. My life sure changed....for the better.

Okay now that I am tearing up.....Let's get on to the little guy that makes my world go around!

Brayden had several firsts this month! It has been an exciting month. It seems like he changes everyday. He is learning and growing so much and it is SO much FUN! One of my favorite things is to watch him discover something new. His eyes light up and gets the BIGGEST smile on his face and he cannot wait to get a hold of it.

Let' s start off with his 6 month photo! Here is my little man!

He is getting so big! We went to the doctor yesterday and Brayden weighs 21 pounds and is 27 1/2 inches long! The Doctor said that he is almost in the 95 percentile for his weight and is in the 90 for his height. Dr. Voyles said that he is a growing, healthy little boy. Brayden is not fat, but a very stocky baby. He is solid. Dr Voyles told us that we could start on all the 2nd foods and even give him mashed potatoes, applesauce and things like that. Basically anything that he did not have the chew up. He also said that we could try giving him juice. And if we really wanted to make it fun....we could try a sippy cup! So needless to say after his appointment we headed to Babies R Us and stocked up on all kinds of 2nd foods and juice. I am interested to see what all he likes. While at the doctor we got 4 more shots...one was in a liquid form which he loves and the other three were in the leg. He took it like a champ. the first shot he did not even cry, the second one he whimpered a little and the third one he cried but as soon as i picked him up he stopped and looked at the nurse and smiled. The doctor and the nurse both made the comment about how happy Brayden is. The whole time the doctor was examining him he was cooing and smiling at him. He truly is a happy baby 95% of the time! We are very lucky!

**This month I found Brayden's first TOOTH on April 27th!! While at the doctor yesterday we discovered that he not only has one, but TWO TEETH!! Brayden now has his bottom TWO TEETH!! My little baby is growing so fast!

**Brayden can sit all by himself. This seem to happen just overnight. He use to sit up for a few seconds and then start to fall over and then all of a sudden he started sitting up all on his own!! We have been working with him, but it was just like all of a sudden he decided he did not need our help anymore! He started sitting up without support around the 30th of April.

**He can roll back over from his belly to his back. He doesn't like to, but he can. He has been rolling from his back to his belly for a while now, but rolling back over seemed like to much work for him. :) He finally conquered that this past month! He finally rolled back over from his belly to his back on April 8th. Good Job Brayden!!

Here is a video of Brayden on his belly. He was not very excited about being on his belly! :)

Trying to get to Winston

**Brayden loves to eat and sometimes you can not feed it to him fast enough. He loves all of the 1st fruits and veggies so I am excited to see what all of the 2nd foods he loves. If he is anything like his mommy, he will love it all!

He looks like he is up to something

Waiting to eat!

**Brayden is still sleeping through the night in his own crib. We put him in his crib a couple of months ago and he has been sleeping in there ever since. We might have to get up a couple of times to put his paci back in but I can handle that. :)

**Brayden loves to be out and about. If he gets fussy during the day, we just head outside or go somewhere. He loves it.
**He does not like to lay down. He wants to be sitting up all the time or standing. I will hold him and let him stand in front of one of his toys or I will let him stand up as he looks out the front door and he loves it! He loves to be standing up and looking around.

**He is definitely a Mommy's baby. He loves playing with his daddy and being with him, but I seem to calm him easier and when he is fussy he seems to want his mommy. He definitely does not want me to get out of his site. :)

Brayden and Mommy

**Brayden is always full of smiles and giggles. He is such a happy baby! He loves to be tickled and he loves for you to makes funny noises. He gets so tickled and it is so cute to watch! When he gets really tickled he snorts when he laughs so the other day I started snorting back at him and he thought it was so funny! Here is a video for you to watch!

**Brayden also laughs till he cannot breathe when you put COLD baby wipes on him. Can you believe it?? What baby likes COLD baby wipes?? That would be my child! He thinks it is so funny!

**Brayden reaches for EVERYTHING in site!! I have a feeling when he gets mobile I will have my hands full! He is a mess.

** I have also taught him how to click his tongue and make noise. He will now start clicking his tongue and expect for you to do it back to him. So he will make the noise and then Nick or I will make it back and then he follows and so on. He will do this all the time and he loves it. I think it fascinates him! :)

It is so funny what you will do or say to make your baby laugh or smile! I love it! Here is a video of Brayden and mommy playing our little clicking game....

**Nick and I fixed Brayden a playroom this past month. He had so many toys that we thought it would be a good idea to make him a playroom one of the spare bedrooms. Here are some photos of Brayden's new room!!

The picture frame that I made for Brayden

He is not spoiled one bit! :)

Look at all those toys!

**Brayden LOVES to play with all of his toys!! Here he is sitting up all by himself playing with his toys!

Here is also a video of Brayden trying to catch bubbles! It is too cute!

**We took Brayden down to the river for the first time. Here are some pictures Brayden with mommy and daddy.

**Brayden still LOVES bathtime!! So much in fact that this is usually how you can catch him while getting a bath. This is too cute! He is relaxing in his tub! :)

**For some time now it seems that Brayden was saying mama. The past couple of days Nick and I both think that he is really starting to say it. It sounds exactly like it especially when he is fussing....

Well I think that is all for updates on Brayden. I look forward to many firsts the next few months. The doctor warned me that when we go back to see him at 9 months he will really have changed and will be into more things! He told me to start preparing to baby proof the house because before I know it he will be into everything. I am not ready for him to be that big yet! :) But it is so much fun watching him learn and grow! He seems like he changes everyday! I will leave you with some random photos of Brayden throughout the month and then I will post a poem that I received in an email from my mom along with photos from Mothers Day!! Hope you enjoy!!

Just waking up from a nap....so happy!

So Sweet!
Smelling Mommy's new perfume
Love that smile :)
Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby
just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy,
the love, the heartache, the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom

I love this and it is so true! I love being a mommy and Brayden is my heart. I would be lost without him!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love you all,
Nick, Amy and Brayden
